Cotton tape is often used for bookbinding, although linen tape is more traditional.
Cotton tape is the cheaper material. This listing is for starched tape that is 10mm wide. The stiffening allows the tape to be handled more easily, especially if sewing without a frame. This tape is slightly off-white or"natural".
Unstarched cotton tape (listed separately) has other uses such as ties for portfolios, or for bundling papers (as in a solicitor's office). All the tapes we sell are of acid-free quality.
