Two Rivers Mill

The various processes involved in papermaking have all been fully mechanized for a long time. Some elements of the manufacture require mechanical help, such as pounding cotton fibres into pulp, squeezing water out of stack of hundreds of soggy sheets. The rest is laborious and requires skills and knowledge that are in danger of dying out. Two Rivers Mill, deep in the Somerset countryside uses a water wheel for its pulp crushing, and the most suitable materials and sizing techniques for producing fine art papers.
